17 November 1942 - 26 May 2018

Colonel John E. Buck "Dancing Bear" passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the age of 75 surrounded by loved ones.

John Buck was born and raised in San Jose, Calif.  He earned a bachelor's degree from San Jose State University and a master's degree from Webster University.  John had a long and impressive career in the United States Air Force, rising to the rank of Colonel and serving as a Commander in the USAF Special Operations division known as Combat Control.  Embodying the motto "First There," Combat Control teams are trained to arrive in hostile environments and set up air-to-ground communications, allowing other forces to follow.

Per John's wishes, John was cremated and returned to his favorite childhood destination. Therefore, his family gathered in Santa Cruz, Calif., and sprinkled his ashes into the Pacific Ocean.
