Virgil, age 72 was born April 11, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Virgil Cox & Frances Wallace Cox. He was married to Charlotte Lyons Cox of Chillicothe. He was a member of the Combat Control Association and the USAF Sergeants Association.

Pete served with honor and distinction as a Combat Controller from 1959-1963 at Pope; '63-'64 at Evreux, France; '64-'68 at Lockborne, OH; '68-'69 Republic of South Vietnam. He retired from the air force during April 1969. He took an active role as a member of the Combat Control Association.
