A MAJOR JUMP TO RETIREMENT

Maj. Lamar Eikman, Combat Training Flight

commander of the 342nd Training Squadron, lands

on target Friday in a retirement jump at a Lackland

Training Annex Pararescue/Combat Control Indoctrination Course training area after 26 years of service, including 15 years as an enlisted Airman. Major Eikman started in the explosive ordnance disposal career field and later retrained into the combat control field, remaining in that field after completing Officer Training School as the top honor graduate. He spent more than 10 years at Lackland as an instructor at the indoctrination course and as flight commander.  Major Eikman is proud his career included being a special tactics officer, combat diver, master parachutist and free-fall jumpmaster, but noted, "My greatest accomplishments have come in building young warriors under the badge of ‘trainer.’"
