Wayne Carter Gardner, Major (Retired) deceased on the evening of 04.17.14 as the result of an automobile accident at the age of 66.


He is survived by his wife Bonnie Lee Purcell Gardner; two sons: Jeffery & Christopher; two sisters: Glenda Monte & Brenda Quinn, and three grandchildren: Zoe Gardner, Cora Gardner and Elizabeth Gardner.


He graduated from CCS in Class 73-5. Some of his Combat Control assignments were at Hurlburt, Pope and Mc Chord.  Wayne was a Vietnam veteran on the Vietnam CCT; he was assigned to the AF Academy Airmanship program as a parachute instructor; stationed at the USAF Airlift Center as the CCT representative; and assigned to the 24th STS as the first Mission Support Officer. 


He was Life Member 068 of the CCA. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Air Commando Association. All Rights Reserved.
